Behind in Rent Payment / Risk of Homelessness /
I am service-disabled veteran and minority currently struggling to pay many bills and have got into extensive debt. I am waiting for a determination from the Social Security Administration that has taken three years to review my SSDI claim thus far. I am very hurt, angry and desperate as my debt and credit issues continues to pile up. The next hearing is on 4/20/23 and it will likely take at least a couple more months even after that to get a decision. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am involving my congressman in order to try to expedite this claim. For now, I am lucky my landlord has not kicked me out and has allowed late payments. Currently, rent is $4,000 delinquent. I just need money to cushion these bills until SSDI makes a determination. If I win the case, I will be back paid and have enough to cover the rest of my expenses and debt.
