I need help with paying off an eviction from 2018 that is preventing my family from having permanent housing.
In January 2022 my townhouse had a small electrical fire the morning we were going to court over a rent dispute with my landlord. The landlord failed to communicate the rent increase with myself, DCA, my VA rep for me to be informed of what the new rent amount would be. He purposely failed to communicate with me which led to being behind on rent. At court my landlord 1st, decided that he would accept the back rent & continue my lease. He then switched his story in the middle of court & said he wanted to end the lease. He still accepted the back rent which was $664 & evicted us anyway because he saw what the fire department did to our unit. He told the judge we the tenants did the damage to the property which has now led my family to being homeless. We are struggling trying to keep a roof over our heads at different hotels. My husband & I have an eviction from 2018 that never got taken care of & it's preventing us from getting a place to live now.

Not all Heroes needing assistance are able to be matched successfully with a specific non-profit partner. In these instances the Coordinated Assistance Network allows Heroes to self post their request on the isupportveterans.org platform so that private donations can be collected for their specific need.
