Front windshield on 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 has a large spiderweb crack making it difficult to see at night through the windshield. It was cracked when we were moving and a box hit the windshield. The spiderweb crack spreads almost across the entire windshield and has damaged the wipers.
My husband and I lost our business where we traveled across the United States inspecting semi-trucks and heavy equipment through at least 20 different states in 2019 and 2020. Our business stopped when COVID happened and we could no longer travel and the contractors we were working for lost so much work they could not keep their full time employees working full time. We became homeless in January of 2022 when my home was foreclosed on. We spent part of January and February of 2022 living in an uninhabitable RV with no electricity, no hot or cold water, no heat and a broken generator. We received assistance to get into an RV park in March. Just prior to getting into the RV park, my husband had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance with a BP of 235/145, atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat), tachycardia, COPD, shortness of breath resting and on exertion, and new onset diabetes. He was hospitalized for approx. 7 days and sent home on six medications. About 5 days after coming home, he was taken again to the ER with severe chest pain, pulmonary embolism, lung nodule, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia and diabetes. He spent 3 days in the hospital. After coming home he was unable as of yet to follow up with a physician due to lack of money for gas or doctor bills. He ran out of 3 of the medications about two weeks ago and we had to buy a prescription off of someone just so he could have the furosamide, which helps to keep fluid from building up. Due to his health condition, he has been left unable to work and is currently waiting for approval of his SSD. I filed for VA disability back in early February and my claim is still being processed. We have sold all of our valuable possessions and are still struggling daily to survive. Any help offered is so appreciated.

Not all Heroes needing assistance are able to be matched successfully with a specific non-profit partner. In these instances the Coordinated Assistance Network allows Heroes to self post their request on the isupportveterans.org platform so that private donations can be collected for their specific need.
